Life Coaching

Often an individual is only interested in looking to the future and identifying a plan of action to be successful. Life coaching differs from psychotherapy in that we do not do much to examine the past or what events may have placed you in the circumstances that you are today. We spend the 45-minute session exploring and developing a plan of how to put steps into place to become the person you envision yourself to be. As in any coaching session, there is no guarantee of success. It requires tremendous involvement and work on your part in order to be successful in implementing the plan. Again, it is not a situation where you are given advice; it is a situation in which you are given options or choices and must decide which options/choices are most comfortable and practical for you.

We will examine interpersonal relationships in the work place; home and socially that produce both a positive and negative impact on your day-to-day functioning. The choices that we make on a daily basis ultimately will dictate the successes or failures that are experienced. It is important to keep in mind that you are planting seeds of benefits that will be reaped at a later time. You are examining what steps you will take for your life span, not just for the moment. We will establish both short and long term goals. This is not financial planning, it is life planning.

As the session is exclusively yours, it is important for you to do some research prior to your first appointment. I do not bill insurance companies; you should know exactly what your coverage is and what you will be reimbursed for. I will provide monthly invoices for you to submit to your insurance company. The life coaching session costs $100 an hour. You are responsible to pay that fee at the beginning of each session. It is important that we end the therapy hour with you thinking about what we have discussed and what the plan for the upcoming week will be. We generally will meet on a once a week basis, but there may be occasion when additional sessions are necessary. This will also be mutually agreed upon.

t is important that you provide notice if you must cancel a session. 72 hours is generally a considerate amount of time. If we can reschedule the appointment for that week, you will not be charged. If we are not able to reschedule and you provide less than 72 hours notice, that session must be paid for at the start of the next coaching hour. I will always notify you at least a week in advance if I am going to be unavailable for the next scheduled session.
